Forumotion and phpbb is what PFD use to use, it's how I found out about them and currently have this site sitting on. It's free, you can use provided templates or create your own. The best way to learn is to read their own words.

***You basically have unlimited storage except for photo's, as that only has 20MB, so if you have another way of displaying images then it would be a good idea to use it.
