Various Free 3D Programs Empty Various Free 3D Programs

Post by Calie Wed May 11, 2011 6:46 pm

This is not my list, it was generously researched and provided by Mikedazfan at the Daz site. It's his painstaking and time consuming efforts that make this list possible and all credit for this should go to him. I am simply making the list available here.

From Mikedazfan thread over at Daz...
I compiled and re-edited this list of free programs from the first 8 pages of the "List of FREE 3d programs" in DAZ forums General Freepozitory. It eliminates a few dead links, is better organized, better commented, and more concise than what you will find on those 8 pages, while intending to be complete and not exclude any of the programs that people posted links to in that thread. It also has some added operating systems compatibility information.

THIS THREAD IS NOT A DISCUSSION THREAD. IT IS FOR CONCISE SUMMARY. PLEASE POST ALL SUGGESTIONS, CORRECTIONS OR ADDITIONS THAT YOU HAVE IN THIS OTHER THREAD:

I hope this information will be helpful to other people! Best of luck to everyone who is trying to learn this really challenging subject without having much money to spend on it.

Poser Purchase Installer. We all know it can be a bit of a pain in the butt manually unzipping your days worth of freebies or Rendo purchases into your runtimes, so this little 2MB program can do it for you. Just set your runtime directories, select the zip you want to install and then press the little 'Install' button. Say, a couple of months down the line you decide you don't want a certain freebie in your runtime anymore, but can't be bothered to go through and find all the associated folders and stuff. Just open up your PPI, select the original zip again, and press 'Un-Install'.

BEHAVIOURAL ANIMATION
Bugz and brainbugz behavioural animation freebie
Bugz is a free downloadable executable program which can export a text motion data file (lists of the 3d co-ordinates of the insects or whatever at successive keyframes) to a Lightwave or Maya script to realistically simulate the motion paths of a group of flying insects. Brainbugz is a Maya script. There are a lot of free Maya .mel scripts that can be downloaded but I don't know of any way that they can be used with free or cheap 3d programs (other than watermarked output from Maya PLE).
