Although Blender is a 3D program, it does come with a game engine in it and has been used in the past to make games. It's a free, open source program that many people have made free plugins, scripts, etc. for you may want to check out. The link below will take you to the site, there is lots of help there, you can also get a book all about blender, if you don't want to pay for it, you could find it at your local library or have them bring it in for you.

Here is the site http://www.blender.org/

Here is where you can get the books, though your local bookstore can also get them in if you don't like buying online, also check with the library for which one's they can get in for you. The Blender For Dummies is an excellent book that I checked out myself, it also comes with a disk for the program, though may be an older version, so double check that.

Here is where you will find all the help you need online with tutorials and manuals, etc.
